Deal of the Day

ebates.com is an incredible website I found for getting a little something back from purchases you will already be making. It is free to join and they will give you a $5 credit for signing up. To use it, log-in to your ebates account and then click the link to whichever website you will be making a purchase from (there are THOUSANDS) and you'll be surprised how much you can get back.

All of this being said, another website that I love is Diapers.com . When you're new, there are codes to receive $10 off and if you are referred by someone (me :D) you can receive another $10 off. They accept manufacturer's coupons and typically have good deals anyway. In addition to all of this, for orders of $49 or more (the total BEFORE discounts I might add) shipping is free and I always receive my things the next day. Log-in using your new ebates account and you'll get even more back. My referral coupon code is AMAZ8319.

I hope this helps all my friends, not just the new moms. Have a great day!

Loves

I would like for you to get to know me better, so here are some of my loves.

I love Jesus.

I love my daughter.

I love my husband.

I love the color red.

I love the beach.

I love coffee with chocolate toffee creamer.

I love taking pictures.

I love even numbers. And numbers in general.

I love that I always have an opinion.

I love Spring.

I love symmetry.

I love reading about other people's lives.

I love writing about my life.

I love "to do" lists.

I love plans.

I love long conversations.

I love being a mommy and plan to do that for the rest of my life.

Yes, I love all of these things. And I love them because I am an all or nothing person, therefore, like just isn't good enough for me.

Much love and many blessings,
Cass

Kick it up a notch

I've decided to kick it up a notch with this whole budget/coupon/stewardship adventure. I feel like I'm good with coupons and deals but I've decided to take a coupon class anyway. After that, my site will have a small section devoted to helping others get the same good deals and hopefully save lots of cash! I'm excited and I hope that this will be a major help to everyone's checkbook.

Part-time

Hello all! This is week one of my new part-time work schedule. I believe this is just what I was hoping for regarding time with Lucy. Before, I always felt so overwhelmed with too much work and too many things to do (none of which involved my Love Bug) and no where near enough time to get everything accomplished. But now, I can actually work on things around the house, etc AND spend time with Lucy. Don't get me wrong, I didn't ignore her before. I ignored our home and required a lot of help from Gary. No offense to my husband, but he just wasn't cut out to be a stay-at-home daddy.

I'm not going into all the boring things I've done today that make me feel so proud of myself, but let's just say that my week's checklist of things to get done has been reduced to a handful of things now and it was once a two page list! Yah for me.

In Lucy news: I think Lucy is completely uninterested in crawling. She has done it a few times for me but usually she prefers to roll to get to something. It is pretty cute but I couldn't understand why if she is capable of crawling, she has no desire to. I found out why yesterday. She is more interested in walking. She stands quite well when holding on to something (i.e. your hands or the coffee table). And last night, she took a few steps while holding the table. I mean seriously, cruising at seven months?! I'm going to have a wild woman on my hands soon. Wish me luck!!

Sundays

I'm not sure why I blog most often on Sundays but I will attribute it to the fact that this is my "catch up" day. Sundays are often reserved for laundry and general cleaning of the house. I would call this my day of organization. I cleaned out our closets and drawers and found about 2 garbage bags of clothes for donation. I also emptied our pantry for the local food bank. And lastly, cleaned out the fridge of old leftovers and out-dated jars. It feels so nice to begin Spring cleaning.

In other good news: I'm going part-time at work and therefore should have more time to achieve the goals I set for our family and home. I know Lucy will require a huge chunk of my time and I am excited about that. I just can't believe how lucky I am to be raising this child. I can't wait to see how her life turns out. And praise God that I will have the pleasure of spending lots of time with her now.

So far this month, I haven't been able to start a new book but I may have resolved to change that goal. Because I will be working less hours, I'm going to put us on a stricter budget and therefore may not find room in the budget for books. We shall see. But even if my goals are being evolved, I feel like we are accomplishing more and more of them and that life has gained new meaning. I know that is a little broad and cliche but it's true.

Gary and I have been discussing goals on a broad scale lately. Yesterday he achieved one of his greatest goals because he graduated college. I am very excited for him and very proud. As a result, he asked me what my major life goals were and after a little thought, I've made some decisions. I want to be my own boss. I want to own a small business. I'm not going to rush into anything but I'm planning to do some research and find out what this means how to get to that point. We'll see if this is what I really want or if I'll be content to be a stay-at-home mom and educator. I can't wait to see!!
